Inside Design, were the "test pieces" for Rouse's new "counterpoetry technique" which would be fully realized in the first opera of the Trilogy, Failing
Kansas. Repeating vocal phrases of spoken word in counterpoint are accompanied by strings, vibes and marimba creating a sonic world that is both acoustic and digital at the same time.
